A. J. Gevaerd
A. J. Gevaerd, 44, father of three children, was born in 1962 in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. He received a B.S. in Chemistry and taught at the high school level before becoming involved full-time in UFO-related endeavors. Chemistry was his first passion and he became a teacher of it at the age of 14. By that time, he was already pursuing the mysteries involved in the UFO Phenomena and was a devoted investigator of flying saucers, sightings and alien contact with humans. He started lecturing about UFOs in 1978. In 1985, at the age of 23, he decided to quit his career as a Chemistry teacher to devote full time to UFO research.

A. J. is the founder and editor of the 22-year-old Brazilian UFO Magazine, the only one existing in his country, and the longest lasting magazine about Ufology in the world today. Brazilian UFO Magazine has now two companions, UFO Special and UFO Documental. All three magazines are monthly and are distributed in Brazil and Portugal with a circulation of 44,000 issues. A. J. is also the founder and director of the Brazilian Center for Flying Saucer Research (CBPDV), the largest organization in South America, with over 3,300 members.

Since he began his activities as a field investigator in the field of UFology over the last 30 years, A. J. Gevaerd has personally investigated over 3000 cases. For the past 22 years, he is the only UFO researcher in Brazil exclusively dedicated to the UFO Phenomenon investigation in a professional manner as the editor of his magazines. He leads a team of over 300 experts in the subject that are members of the Brazilian UFO Magazine’s editorial board. As a national and international speaker, A. J. has lectured over 3,000 times in dozens of cities in his country and conducted investigations and lectures in 39 other countries around the world.

In 1983, he was appointed by Dr. J. Allen Hynek to be the representative of the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) in Brazil. He is presently one of the international directors of the Annual International UFO Congress in Laughlin, and Brazilian director for both Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and Skywatch International. A. J. is the creator of the campaign UFOs: Freedom of Information Now and head of the Brazilian Committee of UFO Researchers, that was recently received by the nation’s military and has examined secret UFO documents for the very first time in Brazil, in the most recent official UFO disclosure to the World.

A. J. Gevaerd has been regularly interviewed by national and foreign radio talk shows, including Whitley Strieber’s Dreamland, Errol-Bruce Knapp’s Strange Days Indeed, George Noory and Art Bell’s Coast To Coast AM, and Jeff Rense’s Sightings program. He has also served as a consultant for many TV documentaries produced in Brazil, especially by the largest TV network Globo, and in several other countries.
