Dr. Roger K. Leir

Dr. Leir was born in San Francisco, and has resided in Southern California since 1948. He obtained his undergraduate education at the University of Southern California and San Fernando Valley College. He secured his B.S. degree in 1961. In 1964, he was awarded the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. Dr. Leir continued his postgraduate training with one-year preceptorship in surgery and an additional one year's training as a Resident in Podiatric Medicine at Simi Valley Doctors Hospital in Simi Valley, California.

Dr. Leir became Podiatric Director of Residency Training, a position he held for three years. In the years that followed, he became Chief of the Diabetic Foot Clinic at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Hollywood, California. During this time, he started private practice and has continued to the present date. Through the intervening years, he has participated in numerous research projects including "Tendon Regeneration", "In Vetro Cell Culturing", and "Artificial Bone Substitute Devices." In the early days of investigatory research with artificial implants, Dr. Leir worked with another researcher in a complex joint project experimenting with the use of silastic materials which were produced by Dow Corning.

His interest in Ufology was initially sparked in July 1947 when his father announced to his mother that the U.S. Army Air Force had just captured a flying disc. Many years later, he again became involved when he was invited by a friend to attend a MUFON lecture and joined the organization as a Consultant in Medecine.

It was also a strange coincidence that his very close first cousin, Dr. Kenneth Ring in Connecticut, had just finished his book titled The Omega Project pertaining to UFOs and NDEs (Near-Death Experiences). Due to Ken's time constraints and increasing workload, he asked Roger to take over his UFO research. After replying in the affirmative, he started receiving huge amounts of pertinent material. In 1995, Dr. Leir, in conjunction with Derrel Sims, performed a historic surgery on two individuals with UFO abduction histories that has received international attention.

Dr. Leir has tirelessly pursued the facts surrounding the phenomena of Alien abductions. He has, at great expense to both his personal life and his financial well being, dared to defy the status quo. He has worked for years, volunteering his time, and in many cases, his own financial support has been used to understand and to validate, through science, those who have been abducted. This has resulted in the many objects being located and removed from abductees.

Behind the scenes, Dr. Leir has helped these people through counseling them about understanding the abduction phenomena, using medical advice and the use of scientific facilities which have analyzed these objects. He has provided advice on hypnotic regression and care of the many people who have experienced the adverse affects of Abduction.

To date, Dr. Leir has recovered a total of 9 foreign objects from several individuals. All operations were performed with the help of a trained surgeon.
