Philip Mantle is a highly regarded and active British author/co-author, publicist, lecturer, broadcaster and researcher of Unidentified Flying Objects. He is also a good friend of Steve Bass, publisher of Journal of Frontier Science.

Philip Mantle was born April 25, 1958 and currently resides in Tingley, Ardsley East, United Kingdom.

Philip has achieved many milestones since his interest in UFO research began in 1979 when he joined the British UFO Research Association (BUFORA), and Yorkshire UFO Society (YUFOS). He was nominated "Investigator of the Year" by YUFOS in 1985.

In 1987, he was appointed to the Council of Management of BUFORA. He subsequently acted as Press Officer, Conference Organizer, and Secretary to the National Investigations Committee.

Philip was appointed the Mutual UFO Network's (MUFON's) United Kingdom Representative in 1988.

In 1992, he was awarded honorary membership in the Research Institute on Anomalous Phenomena (RIAP), a science based UFO-study group based in the Ukraine. And in 1993, he was appointed Director of Investigations with BUFORA.

Among his U.K. television and lecture credits are appearances on BBC radio network and TV programs such as Kilroy, Pebble Mill at One, TV-AM, GMTV, Central Weekend, Fantastic Facts, Wire TV, Schofield’s Quest, Motormouth, The Disney Club, Cool Cube, Good Morning with Anne and Nick, This Morning.

Philip has also appeared on programs in Norway, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, San Marino, Rumania, Switzerland, Israel, Japan, and the USA.

In 1990, Philip formulated, organised and tutored 3 ten-week college courses on UFO’s for the Adult Education Department of Wakefield College, West Yorkshire.

Philip has written many articles, not only for Journal of Frontier Science, but also including YUFOS Journal, UFO TIMES, Enigma, California UFO, MUFON UFO JOURNAL, CENAP REPORT, OVNI PRESENCE, Awareness, The Wild Places, UFO MAGAZINE, UFO Universe, UFO Brigantia and numerous others international publications.

Along with articles, Philip has published numerous books, including a 2005 e-book on the now famous Alien Autopsy, which aired in the U.S. The book, Alien Autopsy Inquest, is the most comprehensive tome to-date on the controversial ‘alien autopsy film’. This film is THE most controversial film in the entire history of UFO research. Launched onto an unsuspecting public by its owner Ray Santilli in 1995, this film has made its way into popular culture and is still debated and discussed around the world. This book provides all the facts from all the experts and allows the reader to reach their own conclusion. Other books include Without Consent (1994), Beyond Roswell (1997), and was a consultant for Hamlyn Children’s Alien Evidence (1998) and Alien Contact (1999), as well as The Soviet UFO Files (1998), Abduction - Encounters with Extraterrestrials (1999), and UFO-USSR (2005 e-book).

His ongoing projects include work with UFO-LINK, with journalist and public relations consultant Carl Nagaitis. UFO-LINK is a UFO consultancy group aimed at working with and providing UFO material to the media. Also, in 2001, he has been actively involved with 'The Mystery Club'at Batley Boys High School, West Yorkshire.
