Les documents OVNI canadiens sur cette page ont été tirés d'une série de cinq bobines de microfilm de 16 millimètre que j'ai achetées des Archives Nationales du Canada, en 1996 - 1997.

Bien que ces bobines contiennent plusieurs centaines...ou peut-être même des milliers de documents, j'ai décidé de signaler ceux-ci en particulier - 132 en tout - parce qu'ils décrivent des rencontres avec des OVNIs dans la région où j'habite - Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

Ce qui est intéressant est le fait que ces rapports d'OVNIs ont comme source l'ancienne Base des Forces Canadiennes Falconbridge, l'une de plusieurs installations de radar qui faisaient partie de la ligne Pinetree de la défense pour le Canada pendant la guerre froide.

La base des forces canadiennes Falconbridge est devenue célèbre dans les annales du dossier Ufologique durant la période Octobre - Novembre 1975 lorsque celle-ci et quatre autres installations militaires situées aux États-Unis ont été envahis par des OVNIs. Les autres bases impliquées sont: la Base des Forces Armées Loring au Maine; la Base des Forces Armées Wurtsmith au Michigan; la Base des Forces Armées Minot au Dakota du Nord et la Base des Forces Armées Malmstrom au Montana.

MOVED FROM NORTH TO WEST, STOPPED, BACKED UP OVER NEW SUDBURY JUST ABOVE THE HORIZON AND LOWER. FIRST NOTICED NEW HYDRO WIRES; DID NOT FOLLOW THEM. SEEN FOR TWO HOURS. ONE OBJECT, WITH GREEN AND RED LIGHTS, SELF LUMINOUS, DID NOT LIGHT SURROUNDING AREA. 2 CAR LENGTH ACROSS AND 1 CAR IN HEIGHT. IT APPEARED TO LOOK LIKE AN AIRCRAFT ON FIRE. THE OBJECT WAS DIFFICULT TO LOOK AT BECAUSE OF ITS BRIGHTNESS. AS THE OBSERVER WAS WATCHING THE OBJECT, A PART OF IT APPEARED TO DROP OFF, ALSO IN FLAMES. SHORTLY THEREAFTER EVERYTHING DISAPPEARED; OBSERVER STATED THAT HE WAS JUST GOING TO GET HIS WIFE TO LOOK AT IT WITH HIM, WHEN IT DISAPPEARED. ONE (CUP AND SAUCER) HAT SHAPED, VERY BRIGHT (LIKE LOOKING AT 150 WATT BULB A COUPLE OF FEET AWAY), LOW ABOUT 500 FEET. THERE WAS A BAND OF BRIGHT GOLD AROUND THE OBJECT APPROXIMATELY 3/4 OF THE WAY UP. NO NOISE AT ALL. IT OVERED OVER THE SLAG PIT FOR A MINUTE THEN DEPARTED AT EXTREMELY HIGH SPEED (OUT OF SIGHT) EASTWARD TOWARDS HIGHWAY 17 THEN RETURNED FOR ANOTHER MINUTE AND LEFT AGAIN IN SAME DIRECTION. WITNESS WAS ALONE IN CAR BUT OTHER CARS WERE PARKED AT THE PIT OBSERVING IT. SEEN FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 MINUTES. ONE OBJECT VERY BRIGHT AND VERY LOW AT FIRST. IT SEEMED TO HOVER OVER SUDBURY STADIUM AND SUDDENLY SHOT INTO THE SKY. SEEN BY NURSING STAFF AT PIONEER MANOR. (SIX NURSES) THEY WISH TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS. SIGHTING LASTED ONE HOUR 55 MINUTES. FOLLOW UP FROM THE CALL BY THE NURSES AT PIONEER MANOR. 4 OBJECTS WERE OBSERVED CLEARLY IN THE SKY. THE BRIGHTEST IN THE EAST REMAINED IN A STATIONARY POSITION. ONE IN THE SOUTHWEST MOVED AT TIMES IN A JERKY MOTION. ONE IN THE NORTHWEST REMAINED STATIONARY. THE ONE IN THE NORTHEAST WAS THE DIMEST, ALSO STATIONARY. THEY WERE STILL PLAINLY VISIBLE AFTER DAY BREAK WHEN ALL REGULAR BRIGHT OBJECTS IN THE SKY HAD DISAPPEARED. SEEN INTERMITTENTLY FOR 1 HOUR.
ONE OBJECT. AT TIMES IT APPEARED TO BE CYLINDRICAL WITH SHAFTS OF LIGHT BRIGHT ENOUGH TO LIGHT UP CLOUDS IN IMMEDIATE AREA. IT APPEARED AT TIMES TO TRAVEL IN CIRCLES. AT ONE POINT IT CAME QUITE CLOSE. IT WAS STILL VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE AFTER THE SUN CAME UP. THE ABOVE OBSERVATIONS WERE MADE WITH THE USE OF BINOCULARS. ONE VERY BRIGHT STAR-LIKE OBJECT MOVING IN A JERKY CIRCULAR MANNER. WHEN COVERED WITH CLOUDS IT WAS STILL BRIGHT ENOUGH TO SHINE THROUGH AS WELL AS LIGHT UP AN AREA AROUND IT. WHILE OBSERVING THIS OBJECT, HE (REGIONAL POLICE CONSTABLE) SAW TWO OTHER SIMILAR OBJECTS, ONE IN THE SOUTH AND ONE SOUTHWEST OF CONISTON. ALL SEEMED TO BE MOVING IN A JERKY CIRCULAR MANNER. THEY SEEMED TO EMIT A PULSATING TYPE OF LIGHT VARYING IN COLOURS. EASILY DISTINGUISHABLE FROM THE STARS. APPEARED TO BE A VERY BRIGHT STATIONARY LIGHT AT APPROXIMATELY 30,000 FEET. WAS FIRST OBSERVED BY SUDBURY POLICE TO BE OVERHEAD FALCONBRIDGE. SEEN BY TWO WITNESSES AT CFS FALCONBRIDGE FOR 30 SECONDS.

ONE BRIGHT WHITE OBJECT APPEARED TO BE OVER THE NORTH END OF THE CITY OF SUDBURY, MOVING IN A NORTH WESTERLY DIRECTION AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. SEEN BY TWO SUDBURY REGIONAL POLICE CONSTABLES FOR 1 MINUTE, THEN COVERED BY A LARGE CLOUD. CIRCULAR OBJECT, BRILLIANTLY LIGHTED WITH TWO BLACK SPOTS IN CENTRE MOVING UPWARDS AT HIGH SPEED FROM 42,000 FEET TO 72,000 FEET. (NO HORIZONTAL MOVEMENT) THIS OBJECT WAS SIGHTED VISUALLY AND BY RADAR BEARING 210 DEGREES MAGNETIC AT 30 NAUTICAL MILES FROM CFS FALCONBRIDGE. MAJOR OLIVER TOOK PICTURES BUT IS NOT SURE IF THEY WILL TURN OUT. A SIMILAR OBJECT WAS SIGHTED BY THE SAME OBSERVERS BEARING 270 DEGREES MAGNETIC BUT AT TOO GREAT A DISTANCE TO PROVIDE DETAILS. BRIGHT LIGHT WITH REDDISH ORANGE VAPOUR TRAIL AND ROUND WHITE DOT. SEEN ALL OVER NORTH ONTARIO AS REPORTED FROM SUDBURY TOWER. SEEN FOR 1½ TO 3 MINUTES.

ROUND LARGE VERY BRILLIANT WHITE LIGHT; ALTITUDE 700 FEET; STATIONARY OBJECT. MR KEN BIM OF DOWLING SPOKE TO MR HICKEY AND RELATED A SIMILAR OBSERVATION ABOUT 1110Z 13 JAN 80. SEEN FOR 2 TO 3 MINUTES CONTINUOUSLY BY MR VINCENT HICKEY WHILE DRIVING SOUTH ON HWY 144.

LOOKED LIKE FALING STAR, VERY CLOSE BEFORE THE OBJECT BURNT OUT. A SMALL PIECE BROKE OFF. OBJECT WAS MOVING SLOWER THAN A FALLING STAR. SEEN FOR 5 SECONDS BY VAL CARON WITNESS.
ONE ROUND BRIGHT LIGHT WITH BLUE ON OUTSIDE TRAVELING AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED SE TO NW. HIGH ALTITUDE. SEEN FOR 10 - 15 MINUTES BY TWO BLIND RIVER WITNESSES. INFO PASSED ON BY OPP BLIND RIVER, CONSTABLE BILL YATES. CONSTABLE YATES ALSO STATED THAT HE KNEW MR MONETTE TO BE A RELIABLE PERSON AND WOULD NOT REPORT IT UNLESS HE ACTUALLY SAW IT.
