Retired British detective gathers police UFO reports
Mr. Heseltine is a retired British police detective constable with over 22 years' service. He is the creator of the PRUFOS (Police Reporting UFO Sightings) Database which he maintains in an unofficial capacity. The database was launched publicly in January 2002 and caters to serving and retired officers who have been involved in British UFO police sightings.

Each year, it publishes an annual report outlining the results of Gary's research conducted during the previous twelve months. When Gary began the database, it had a half dozen police reports involving approximately 10 police officers. Now, after ten years of research, it contains over 430 reports dating back to 1901 involving over 940 police officers.

The database is divided into two separate categories – on and off duty police sightings. Theses sighting reports derive from a number of sources, from officers themselves who contact PRUFOS, to historical newspaper archive reports, or official information reports released by the Ministry of Defence.
