Who's Who in UFOlogy

This page is dedicated to

Marlene Johnson
(1935 - 2012)

I met Marlene while co-hosting a half-hour radio program on UFOs and related matters - during the late 1990s - at CKLU 96.7 FM located on the campus of Laurentian University here in Sudbury, Ontario (Canada). She had been hosting a show called "Sounds for Seniors" right before it was my turn to be on the air. It was then that I found out about her exploits in the 1960s as a UFO investigator and a former member of both APRO (Aerial Phenomena Research Organization) and NICAP (National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena), the first two civilian groups which were based in the U.S. Most of her files had been lost when she got divorced from her husband, and I deeply regret never having taken the time to record her stories on tape. Nonetheless, she will be greatly missed, and will always be remembered for the fascinating life that she led. Rest in peace, my friend.

It has come to my attention that very few people know very little about the serious scientific study that has been done in relation to UFOs and Flying Saucers...or the researchers who have undertaken such a monumental task of scientifically investigating reported sightings of Unidentified Flying Object (UFOs). The following is a list - in alphabetical order - of Who's Who in the world of UFO research - past and present - who left their mark in the field of UFOlogy. Included are some of the film makers who have produced some of the best UFO documentaries ever made.

In order to emphasize on certain characteristics of the following people, I've developed a simple colour code for their biographies which should help in identifying their credentials, educational level or expertise, personal achievements, published materials and any other important facts that the reader should know about these individuals who are associated with UFOs in one form or another.

Red highlights the educational level and/or work/career-related achievements associated with the individual in question.

Green highlights the title of a book and "Green" in quotes highlights any newspaper or magazine articles written by the individual.

Purple represents any radio or television broadcasts that the individual may have been featured in, or associated with.

Dark Blue highlights the name of a newspaper, magazine or journal.

Navy Blue highlights any awards that the individual may have received during their career and/or investigative work.

Light Blue highlights any conference or symposium that the individual may have attended.

Brown highlights any term or statement of interest or significance that pertains, directly or indirectly, to UFO research in general.
